July 10- "detour" to a waterside state park

2009.07.10
Yesterday I took my mom to the doc's and also to run an errand or two. While I waited in the car while she ran into the Rite Aid, I caught up on photoblog posts on my new phone ;-).

On the way home, took a detour to NorthPoint State Park. It's on the Patapsco River, a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay.
There's a couple of fishing piers...

and some nice shoreline...

and even a nice little beach.

Also plenty of wildflowers.

Here's the beach- my husband and I call it "White Trash Beach". ;-). It's great on a weekday- plenty of room and tables for picnicing or having a sit whilst you read your chick lit novel ;-) (what I did for a little while).

Queen Anne's lace.

I sat on a rock facing this part of the shoreline for a little while- it was like having my own private shoreline.

The path back to land from the second fishing pier.

more wildflowers.

the water, seen through the trees.

yet more wildflaurz, hon.

I walked a little way down a path and found this spot with a bench. Sat there for a little while, in the quiet, just listening to the wind rustle gently through the trees.

Stopped and had lunch at a local seafood place on the water, out that way. Liiiiisa- fyi, they don't start the $1.50 crabs until 5pm.
I had a bowl of MD crab soup and a small salad with an "Arnold Pamler (1/2 iced tea, 1/2 lemonade) to drink.

I suppose this guy was wishin' I'd invite him to join me. ;-)

Oweena Great shots of the park.
I'm eventually going to cave and buy a smart phone so I can be hooked up all the time (as if my laptop aircard isn't enough). Not for p-blog of course, but for other things.
